Jerry, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Just curious how you came across my blog? I haven't updated in a while and am also feeling guilty about that. Not really guilty but I sometimes thing that you're either cut out to blog or you're not. Those who are have to really work at it or feel that they really have something worthwhile to say. In a way, a lot of my initial web 2.0 enthusiasm has dulled, perhaps because there is so much in the day to day work of a school technology coordinator that I don't have time for the "fun stuff" I'd like to keep exploring.
I look forward to your link and read about your experiences on your blog. Alan

Hi Alan,
I am at St. Marks, Hollywood, FL. I teach 3rd grade, but taught the technology classes at my school in Dallas. While I feel the need to be a primary male teacher, I also have a passion for sharing technology as well. You are an inspiration to read. Thank you for sharing your walk down this road. I am very new into the Web 2.0 realm and very much appreciate your encouragement to just jump in and start experiencing this technology so as creative teachers, we will begin to see ways to apply it for our students. I will be creating my log this week. I will pass on the link then.

Do you happen to have the old Apple ii Algebra disks that were developed by Long Beach City College in the 1980s? I used to use them with my algebra students and they were great! Now I am a volunteer with One Laptop Per Child and would like to try to get a similar program available to children all over the world. I found someone who has an old Apple iie that may work and we would like to try to print out the code and get someone to code it into an Activity (program) for the XO (the OLPC computer) and others running the Python based "Sugar OS. I have disk 2 from the program but don't know if it is any good any more and don't know if disk 1 is on any of the other ones I have.

For the most part I thought it was divine providence that I turned to teaching instead of preaching. I enjoyed my classrooms and kids and was happy doing that. At about age 38 or so, I did have that sense that if I was going to make the jump to being a reverend, it would have to happen now. I let that moment and and haven't really looked back. Now that I've moved from classroom to technology coordinator, I'm even more convinced that I made the right natural progression in my career.

So now I KNOW the OCTechGuy!

What an interesting read! The story of your path to becoming a Lutheran teacher is fascinating to me. I could not help but wonder if you've ever wondered about what life might have been like had you taken the path to the ministry? Still, for me, teaching is a unique ministry and it has been a most satisfying call!

I am going to respond to your "tag." I am. I am. I'm just behind - on everything!

Thanks for thinking of me Alan. It's trickier than it looks but I think I have completed the task. It is interesting reading through the mini bio's of people you only know on Twitter. They become much of a "3D" person. You have certainly had some exciting pastimes.
You'll find my Meme at http://loisath.edublogs.org/about/
